After I had Tibbe neutered, the next day when he was well-over his anesthesia, he just stood and stared at me. Planted himself in the middle of the den floor and stood there looking at me. I swear that dog knew something was different, he was likely sore and hurting still and he wanted answers! You could just tell. His standing there like that was something he'd never done when he didn't want anything - and he didn't. I ran through his lists of needs and wants and nothing rang his bell. Just stood there staring. And several times that day and a little the next, he did that. He wanted to know what and why I think. I'm convinced he was asking to know. I did try explaining but he would just snort when I stopped talking and walk off as if he was saying "I sure hope you don't plan making a habit of doing this to me." And he was pretty stand-offish for a couple of days. I sure paid for his neuter. But, by the 3rd post-op day, all was forgiven, the staring at me was over and we were good buds again but I definitely got the cold-shoulder and guilt-trip for a good while.

Dr R used a popular human grade Sevoflurane anesthesia in place of Isoflurane. He thinks it's a safer alternative, although more expensive It does not cause respiratory issues and I can tell already she is not coughing and gagging like Sugar was after her procedures.

One of the "side effects" is (in humans they know this to be true) is surgery day amnesia so when Mark (vet tech) called me today he said she is most likely confused as to just WTH happened to her yesterday!!
