Welcome Patty & Buttons, we're new here too and my first ever Yorkie, Eva Noel, was born on October 21, 2012.

I had to laugh at your post, my Eva does the exact same thing as your Bottons ... she will sit, almost on the floor and want me to pick her up, but the minute I reach for her she will back up and sit again! We went around the bed sitting and squatting one morning and I just laughed out loud and so did the hubs!!!

She doesn't do it anymore though ... we got another Yorkie this week and Isabella Bleu (born Nov. 2, 2012), walks up to me and puts her little paw on my leg wanting me to pick her up, which I do. Now Eva doesn't back up when she wants me to pick her up, she gets front and center!
