Gail, at least with liver shunts, mixes were used in a large study, along with quite a few pure breeds. In that case, the incidence with the mixes was
extremely low compared to any breed.
(I'm basing this off memory. LS gets talked about so much with the YT and that stands out in my mind from my research. IIRC it was a UT study.)
