I'm sorry to hear about Peaches, don't forget, animals can hide their pain, but it doesn't mean that they aren't in pain, so I would work closely with my vet to ensure her last days are very comfortable. Regarding a puppy, it just depends on your other dogs, do you ever have dogs visit the house, how are they with the new dogs? If you they haven’t played with new dogs in years, a new puppy might drive them little nuts. As a dog gets older, they aren’t that thrilled with the antics of a new puppy and could cause a lot of conflict. One think you should understand, is a new puppy will probably not help Omar and he will still need to grieve. I've heard that you should keep a blanket with her scent on it and give it to the grieving dogs as this helps somewhat. Best of luck.
