Back in 1976....1978 when I got my very first Yorkie, that breeder stressed over and over and over...."Do NOT ever leave this baby alone for even one second....not in your car, not in your yard, NO PLACE....do NOT let strangers hold your baby.....they will use the opportunity to steal your baby!!!! It will happen in an instant and you will never get your baby back." Well, over the years, how many times has what she told me been true.....sometimes the owner is fortunate enough to get the baby back, but for the most part, it ends very sadly. The new development in these events is like when a thief actually grabbed one of our members baby, from her arms, with a halter/leash on her, and thank God, they wrestled over the baby, and he was not able to get the baby out of the harness and from her grasp.....and I think bystanders intervened too.....that is terrifying! It is one thing to let a stranger hold your baby, or to leave it unattended sitting in a carrier/purse in a chair out in public, or in your car, where a thief can very easily accept that invitation to "STEAL ME PLEASE!!!", but when they jump you and try to wrestle your baby from your grasp, THAT takes on a whole new dimension of terror. (Wonder if this baby was chipped?) |
