In order to treat flea infestations successfully, you need the pet AND the environment
1. first wash everything (bed, mats, toys, & vacuum any area he/she uses).
2. While things are getting washed, treat your dog with a topical or oral fle medication (advantage, frontline, comfort is, etc).
3. At night, treat the outside environment with some insecticide meant or fleas.
I know some people don't like the idea of using "chemicals" on dogs, but realistically, if you have serious issues with fleas, only concentrate "medicines" will help.
PS- I've problems myself, & despite following all of those steps I've learned through research, the problem continues because I can't control infected cats from leaving fleas on my property. I'm considering either Lawnsuit my neighbor to make him keep his cats in his property or enclosure my porch area at least.
If you treat & control all those areas, you will be flea-free
Hope I helped a little
