Is your vet a specialist in small breed dogs? How comfortable are you with the vet? I think YOU are right on this one so that is why I ask.
How much does Niko weigh? I just think it is really too soon to neuter him. A couple of reasons - 1) he's still small and growing and it's best to wait and let him finish growing, 2) Niko will most likely end up needing some puppy teeth pulled but you can't know that yet. If you wait until like 7 or 8 months, you'll know if he retained teeth and can get them pulled while he's under anesthesia being neutered. The less often you have to put these littles under, the better.
I would wait.

The last couple of days she is wanting to run around more! It is so hard to keep her from wanting to rough house. She gets her Bully stick a lot to keep her quiet! I am so happy she is not a jumper, so I don't have to deal with that part. She still whines for me to put her up and down the furniture. I have to schedule her appointment to get her staples out and her incision checked. It looks great....no redness or swelling! I am so relieved to have this over with!!! |
Deb - sounds like Teeka is progressing really well! The fact that she wants to rough house is good and bad. Bad because you need to keep her still but good because it means she's feeling good
