i used one and it worked great... we live in the city so nuisance barking was not an option.. it didnt go off if she just barked or yapped in a "talking" way..it only went off when she would get on a barking rampage... and then it seemed to surprise her more than hurt her and within a week ..i gave it to a friend for her pup as Alice had given up that type of barking rant. :-)
Also..i specifically bought it from petsmart..so that if it didnt work i could return it.. Alices's dog trainer said it works about half the time ... hope this helps and good luck!
