All my labs and rottie's where runts of the litter and just because I've had 3 runts in 30 years I'm partial to them. My "runts" we're the best dogs in the whole litters.

Honestly in my opinion and it does not matter but being your dil's first yorkie maybe she should get a sturdier dog. True breeders breed to better the breed and its standards. The lady you spoke of getting the pup from bred for the wrong reasons. Her breeding the dumped dog without knowing the history or health state of the female was in bad taste, because these unknown health or hereditary diseases are now passed onto the pups.

You talk about rescue pups need just as much if not more love then a new pup with possible life threatening illnesses.

Now having given my opinion, I'm also a mom of a handicapped child, whom I took full on responsibility of his health. Issues after I had him and the older he got the more they became. I see pups with health issues 2 ways:
1. Poor breeding and breeding for cash
2. Being the chosen individual like myself that has been given a true inspiration to raise, love and cherish.

I'm not bashing you at all, I think it takes some cajones to post your thread knowing full ware of the good and bad criticism you would receive.
