Columbo is doing very good. It is too soon to know if he is "truly" responding to his meds, but he feels great. He even wanted to go on a short walk yesterday. He is getting lots of rest and we are keeping him on a strict schedule, meds and diet. He goes in Monday to check his Albumin again. His official diagnosis is protein losing enteropathy caused by severe inflammatory bowel disease. He showed no signs until he developed severe hypoalbuminemia. IBD is the cause that has the highest odds of getting it under control to manage and live a long life, so we are grateful for that. However, the vet said if they don't respond to treatment, odds aren't very good. From what I've read, they can initially respond, then in a few weeks, stop. The vet said we will give the steroids 2 weeks to see if it can be managed with just that. If not, we will add another drug. I am hopeful that his initial good response will continue. It is SO good to see him feeling better. Thank you for all your prayers. I am so grateful for them. It will be a long road to get him back to where he should be, but I am optimistic!

I am glad to read that Columbo is doing so good. I pray that it continues and that he will be ok. Prayers still continue for him.
