By comparison to your Dog, you/we have such deplorable sight, hearing, and scent, it's absolutely pathetic. I would recommend as others have, that you start trusting your Dog's reactions. Start looking closely at his actions and "use" his ability to insure your safety, and that of your Family.

I don't let anything go by without a (at least) a cursory inspection. When my guys are right, I praise them highly, treats included, even for a Cat. When they're wrong, I just don't react other then the look. They get the idea real quick as to what you think is important, and not.
