My dog does the same and I mostly solved the issue by getting the small bites rather than the large kibble. However, it is probably made worse if the dog has a tum upset or sensitive digestive system.
As for the special bowl, it made no difference - for him anyway!
Good Luck, it is hard when your baby has issues. Hope he improves soon.
