A lot of people have lived with foreign objects in them from shrapnel, bullets, permanent sutures, surgical mesh to repair of old war wounds or other body defects, to fixation/anchoring devices for fracture fixation, ACL and other surgical repairs/reconstruction, methyl methacrylate used for bone defects and a myriad of other surgical uses, allografts for tendon/bony type reconstructions, all kinds of implants from soft, pliable facial implants for severe injury, disease or reconstruction, kids with ear tubes for drainage, lens implants after cataract surgery, dental implants, joints implants such as hips, shoulders or knees, etc., without any increased risk of cancer over the next guy, except some of the earlier silicone breast implants.

If it would help to locate lost children and missing people with certainty, present the scanner with medical allergies and medications list, medicalhistory and the devices didn't seem to cause any medical problems themselves, Iwould probably be for having one myself.
