Amen to that! My 1st 10 years were spend on the floor/telemetry...3 as a tech, 7 as a nurse. 7 more in SICU, now been In the ED for 8 years. Think I'm getting too old for that, too, and am back in SICU prn, too. When I grow up, though, I want to work with EMR systems and currently am on the team initiating an EMR at our little community hospital. Nod to Tntviper1...love the computer stuff! And yes, I think nurses are caretakers of not only our pets, but many of their husbands, too. Y'all know what I'm talking about...how many nurses do we know that are the sole breadwinner? I think my Huey takes care of me, though. He is my little furball of sanity that I come home to every day.
