We have had the exact same thing going on with our Gretel (who passed away last Dec.) and Hansel. Gretel was such a type A and poor Hansel has always played the baby in the family. He is very laid back and seems not to be bothered by much at all. Gretel on the other hand always had to be in on everything.
Whenever we brought toys home (even two of the same toys) Gretel would manage to take them both and hoard them. Hansel never really had a chance. There were a couple toys that Hansel seemed to especially like, a pull rope, and a tennis ball, so we always got those to play with him and Gretel just had to find her own but when we weren't looking, she took toys away from Hansel and he would just look at us as if saying "Oh well...". I guess sometimes it just isn't worth the hassle to break that habit. We just made sure Hansel always got some special play time with us. Good luck, I don't know what to advise.
