I adopted my little girl, Katie, when she was three years old. She had two litters of puppies before she was retired. Katie came from a hobby show breeder who is also a professional dog trainer. She was used to going potty outside, and she was fully trained when she came to live with us. Katie still prefers to go potty outside, but I have a washable pee pad down in case I am gone too long and she needs to go potty. Surprisingly, I didn't need to train her to use the washable pad. I think she knew to use it because she had trained her puppies to go potty on a pad. Katie is a dream come true, such a special little girl. She was used to a lot of love before she came to us, yet still she bonded so quickly to us, and she is such a love! I hope things work out for you with this little girl. |
