Shaving them will help take some of the weight off of them and help the cartilage strengthen. If they continue to fall,like Ruby's does even at age three and somethimes after a bath, you will just need to continue to shave or cut any excess hair to allow them to stand up.

There are also some with "heavy leather" which is another work for thick ears. Like my Brandi, her ears never went up no matter what I did. This is more comon in Tea Pot or larger Yorkies.
