Take a piece and wet it, with a bit of soap, a bit of friction...see how it dries... if the color stays and it doesn't fall apart, I'd trust it to use as a fabric trim or bows. If not, save it for wrapping gifts. If you have wire edged ribbon... the wire can be removed quite easily, then used the same as fabric ribbon, but I would also check for color fastness.
