I didn't have to. I clicked on chat and I apparently had my java plugin disabled and it told me so I enabled it. Then, it asked me if I wanted to close because it may be unsafe per firewall and I said, no. Then it did a pop up to run or cancel. Click RUN to run the app for chat and then chat screen popped right up.
