Many if not most dogs go through a poop eating stage. Just keep it picked up and say "No" to your dog when he starts to approach it and redirect him to a fun squeaky toy or something safe to chew on, play tugowar or something while you clean it up, clean him up, brush teeth, etc. Usually they lose interest after a few times of doing it and by seeing your disgust. No matter even if we don't say anything to them, they can tell by our reactions we don't like it and all of my dogs have stopped it after a while.
