It is a myth that wet food will lead to tooth decay faster than dry food. Dry food companies contribute to the myth. All food makes teeth dirty and the only way to prevent dental disease is to brush regularly, chew on bones, and have dental cleanings when necessary.

Withdrawing her wet food should not have made her throw up. The period of diet change can upset tummies, but you were doing it slowly. Could be the extra water, maybe. If you still want to remove the wet food, I would continue to decrease the amount and not add water.

If she continues to throw up, you could try going back to her original diet, but continuing vomiting would warrant a trip to the vet to rule out other problems.
