I used to have a dog that had very strong storm anxiety issues. It is very stressful to deal with. He always wanted to sit on my lap when he was going through this. I would feel horrible if I was away from home when a storm blew in because I knew how terrified he would be.

Gracie came to us in the summer time so storm season had already begun. Whenever there was a clap of thunder she would look at me and I would just pretend I did not hear it and did not notice her checking me out. They are very preceptive and see our reactions to everything. I have continued this behavior ever since and so far we have had no anxiety of any kind. I truly hope it stays this way. She will be 3 in May. She still checks me out when there is a storm and I still ignore the sound and her reaction. She just goes back to sleep or what ever she was doing.

I hope this is not an indication of future problems. Hopefully she will be OK the next time you have a storm.
