I agree.
I feed raw and sometimes feel like I'm all alone...and then others pipe up. Which makes me feel good.
Raw is still relatively "new" in the acceptance ring (even though it's the oldest feeding style, lol). So it's still a hot topic as you mentioned and, unfortunately, controversial.
