I know this post is getting old, but will put my 2 cents in... I bought the fancy quick finder clippers. Bought the small ones in the cat aisle. Completely useless! $37! I'm still put out about it. Then bought the nippers with the guard, and they are working like a charm. The guard is spaced a little long, so I eyeball the nail before deciding to cut. No blood so far, and Yorkies are tolerating it fairly well. My smallest Yorkie has been diagnosed with collapsing trachea, so I can't risk the aggitation of having professionally groomed any more -- not even in the mobile grooming truck. I 'towel' him after his bath -- wrap in such that only one leg is exposed and lay him on his back on the bathroom counter. It seems to befuddle him enough that I can get one foot done at a time before he gets restless. I can't believe they're still able to sell those "quick finder" clippers. But then, I bought them, so hey.... |
