She loves her pup dearly and if she had her right mind there would be nothing she would not do for it. I have told her I would help but sadly in her state of mind she only trusts her children. Even so I would never deprive her or her pup of each others company. I honestly think they would both grieve themselves to death without one another. I have had to care for a pup that was brought to me lost by a friend and believe me I would of loved to kept her she was precious but I did the right thing, hung flyers all over town with her picture and where she was found and on what day. Called all the vets in 3 towns, had her checked for a chip. When her owner came for her it was very obvious she belonged to him as she ran straight to him and jumped into his arms. His grandkids had opened the door the morning she ran away and she escaped without them seeing her. He stood in my living room and cried he was so happy to have her back.
How far do you live from your sister in law, if you don't mind me asking?
Maybe a weekly trip could help them from growing into her feet?

I have an Uncle with schizophrenia, and another one whom is mentally retarded due to an umbilical chord being wrapped around his neck, when born, no one with dementia yet, I understand soe what about mental issues, though.
