My Males are jumpers, but My Females aren't. I encourage this, and, the older Male teaches the younger (they're 4 years apart). When I do have a Puppy, I intentionally have places for them to jump. That includes up onto slicker surfaces, which when done incrementally, makes them quite agile.
All that's well and good except, I can't leave ANYTHING out ANYTIME.
