Are you actually Irish or just one of those people who likes to talk about their heritage AKA Plastic Paddies? I'm Irish (actual Irish - born there, Irish parents, lived there, Irish passport) and rarely have a temper, nor do my family and friends but sweeping generalisations about my fellow countrymen DO make me angry.
I think you should make EVERY effort to search for the owner of this puppy. She could have escaped through a number of circumstances. My puppy can be out the door, up steps and lost on a main road in a matter of seconds when the post man comes to the door.
Please look for her owner - or someone else in the US (I don't know how Craigslist works) post a notice using the given photo and information.
When I was a child my grandma was ill and unable to cut her dog's nails as often as she liked but that dog was loved, so so loved. I hate to think if her dog had escaped with long nails that someone would have kept her because the long nails apparently equal neglect of some kind. You could be upsetting someone elderly, or even children.
