I'm no expert - I just have a "shaggy" little pup.

But - I would suspect that a trim would help shape your dog's hair and make it look better ---and stay looking better for a longer period of time.

I have seen a couple of "before and after grooming" pictures on this site that really showed how much better a little grooming can make a dog look. It surprised me because I thought they looked great to start - but WOW after the grooming, they looked even better.
