I totally get how you feel. We all feel it. My first yorkie died 4 years ago, tragically she was hit by a car. We were devastated. Now, 4 years later, we are going to get Lili home next month, in April, and we hope she'll be with us for many many years.
I wish dogs lived for as many years as tortoises do! but all we can do is cheerish our moments with them.
Despite the tragical death of my little angel 4 years ago, all I am left with are good memories. She filled our family life with love.
