I'm sorry for your loss, but my vet says ultrasounds are not accurate for counting number of puppies. Also, puppies gain most of their weight and size in the last two weeks so there is no way they'd be able to tell size of puppies two weeks before due date. X-rays are better for counting puppies but you can still miss one.
