depends on the store. usually if they have a training ring you can ask what time the class is and watch from the glass to see how the particular trainer works with the dogs. if you like it you sign up for the next class.. some will let you sit in on the first class, others wont but you can watch from outside.

youtube is awesome. its great to see the different methods since not one particular method works for all dogs!
