Joey gained too much weight after a tricks training class, I was feeding him his regular food and then feeding him lots of high calorie treats every day, so that he'd learn all his tricks. He was a great student, but vet said he was a pound overweight. He suggested that I cut his food by 1/3 and add a 5-6 green beans to a meal, so that Joey would feel full. He lost about 1-2 ounces a week, and this wasn't a hard diet for him. Slow but sure is the way to go. I'm concerned about your girl, eating pasta with meat and vegetables, which may be a balanced human diet, however it, isn't a balanced canine diet. If you are to home cook, you need to add a supplement made for dogs. Your dog may be overweight and malnourished, a common but an extremely unhealthy condition.
