We live in Colorado. I have a 4 year old English Bulldog and just a few days before Christmas my best friend, my (almost)10 year old pug passed away. We've been heartbroken for weeks now. This past week something happened though!! We knew of someone (through someone else) who had a litter of yorkies. We watched the pictures as the little puppies grew. One of them, the little runt, captured our hearts, but at the time we were dealing with my pugs death and grieving. The, umm, "breeder" was having a hard time placing the little runt because he cried about everything. Well, crying isn't the best word. He would SCREAM if anyone strange touched him. Because of this they couldn't place him and were going to put him down. I went and checked him out and sure enough, it took more than an hour before I could touch him without him screaming. I asked to take him home overnight and take him into my vet the next day to check for any kind of physical problems. They agreed!
My vet looked him over and said that physically he looks good, he's just not socialized at all. Poor little guy. We knew that we had our work cut out for us, but we couldn't bear to think that they would put this little guy down!! So, in the end we adopted this little yorkie and he is very quickly worming his way into our hearts! We've named him "Frogknot" which sounds unusual, I know, I know!! We've always named after locations (My English Bulldog is named after Bailey CO) and since this guy is so small (3.0 lbs - 12 weeks old) we decided to search out a small town to name him after. Frogknot comes from a little town northeast of Dallas Texas. They spell it "Frognot" we added a k because we liked the way it looked! His full name is Sir Frogknot of Last Chance. Last Chance is a ghost town in Colorado and also since we were his last chance we thought it worked great for us! We call him frog for short!
