Default Crates - doors?

Right now Sam's IRIS ex-pen is set up in our living room. He has his bed, food dishes, water bowl, and a pee pad. He sleeps in there, and is confined while we are at work, which means he is spending an awful lot of time cooped up and alone.

I want to get a crate and have him in the bedroom at night. The goal eventually is for him to sleep in the bed with us, but DH absolutely doesn't want him up there until he is potty trained. (I'm hoping crating him at night will help move along the potty training process!) I don't want to spend a lot of money on a crate that will be a temporary set up. Amazon has this one for dirt cheap:

My question is: Is it worth it to pay more for one with 2 or 3 doors, or will a single be okay?

Space is fairly premium in the bedroom, but I miss my boy being close to me at night!
