i will tell you something simple that worked for me with Jem. and he bit hard.
when he bit ,I would take my hand and push a large part of it, stiffened, in his mouth. so his mouth could not close.. he would look at me like. wtf? and he could not bite with his mouth opened so wide. you do not ram your hand in and you do not make him whine, you just make it impossible for him to close his mouth around the outside part of your hand, while you form a semi fist.it only took a couple of times and he found something else to do....bite my sister lmao
