Also...make sure your vet knows what they are talking about w LP. With my first yorkie Lola I knew nothing about LP. I took Lola in for her puppy well check up...the vet told me she had LP and needed surgery at a crack of upto $2500 per leg. Didn't tell me what grade or anything. I read up on it and that is where I learned that surgery depends on what grade and how the pup handles it...and that if its a grade 1 surgery might have more complications such as arthritis then the LP. Lola never had an issue w her legs ever. Needless to say, I never went back to that vet and my new vet did not find issues w her legs.
