I don't think it matters.... I give Riley Heartgard Plus. He gets it on the 20th of each month usually in the morning after he has already eaten but if I forget I give it to him that evening. He LOVES it! Does circles for it. I break it into 2 and he chews them both down. I think I have read they are supposed to chew it and not swallow it whole..
