 Help - Post surgery concerns
Anyone that could help with suggestions would be appreciated. My one year-old Yorkie recently had a bowel obstruction and had emergency surgery to correct the problem. She handled surgery well but four days postoperative she had a few episodes of seizure like activity.
I have been warned of the liver shunts and have her scheduled for testing this Monday. But, over this weekend she has just acted very odd. She appears to be hypersensitive to sound and very nervous. She is lethargic and seems depressed. She will not eat nor drink and this is progressively getting worse each day. She was overly playful immediately following surgery and that has declined each day.
I am very concerned about her not eating. I've tried all types of food: rice chicken beef. She's not interested. Is this typical post operative behavior and do I just need to give her time to heal? |
