I brush first without any coconut oil because I worry that the oil might diminish some of the abrasive power of brushing.
As for results, I'm not sure how to measure what effect coconut oil has. One member here brushed with coconut oil and her dog's teeth looked good. However, when the dog went for a dental, xrays revealed he needed several teeth pulled.
