I have not idea. I tried to do some research but the closest I could come up with was those glow in the dark tube necklaces. I would think it is not the same since the necklaces are filled with actual liquid. Your "maggots" are rubber. I was say call you vet as soon as you can.
I would think since these are kids creepy crawlies, hopefully they are not toxic.
