I believe it is little Jj telling you he is in a good place and helping you with your grief! I've never had a pet but...my dad passed away when I was 22. A few years later I was upset over a bad break up w a bf. I always went to my dad when I needed comfort or help problem solving. I was sitting at a table crying and asking why when I heard a noise in the hallway. When I looked up my dad was there...he said everything is going to be just fine..and I felt him hug me. He disappeared and i knew everything was going to be exactly how it should be. I believe if you believe it happened.
