I agree! I must have expressed myself in a wrong way, of course you can't use exercising as an excuse for eating junk food!
But you know, some people have no problems with being big and so I say - better to be big and in shape, than thin and out of shape.
Many people think you can just eat your way out of overweight - you can, but it is MUCH simpler, healthier and fun to exercise. Best is if you have both healthy food AND exercise, but if you have to choose (or insist on it), exercising is much more important for your health!
As an example we have many elderly overweight women in Northern Jutland, their husbands like fat gravy sauce and fatty meat. They are too old to change their ways against their husbands will. The good news is, it is ok if they just exercise.
What we do here is measure their calorie intake over 2 weeks and then plan their exercise program for them. Make groups of people who exercise together.
I hope you see that we agree and that my point was just that the latest research says better fat and in shape than thin and out of shape.
