If I use plastic bands, I always cut the band off instead of pulling it out. I try not to use the plastic bands very oftent, though. I get the mini scrunchies. Much gentler on the hair. You can get a pack from the dollar store or walmart usually. If you can't find any, I have also bought some from Bow Biz.
