The very 1st time I ever took Huey to a groomer, I was told to be there at a certain time and I was. Little did I know they wanted me to leave him and pick him up that afternoon. Since this was my 1st grooming experience, I did as I was told. (Last dog was lab...no groomer there). I expressly told them DO NOT trim or tip his ears. He was just a pup and ears were still flopped, but I had seen his littermate after grooming with tipped ears and hated the look. Needless to say, when I picked him up that afternoon, his ears were tipped. When I complained, I was told that was the breed standard and to get used to it. (My dog is a half breed mutt...lol...there is no breed standard! ...ok, a "designer dog"...whatever...) Obviously, I never went back there and have never left him anywhere again. If someone groomed my dog without my express permission and/or failed to follow my explicit instructions, I would seriously pitch a fit (to put it nicely) Obtw, his ears have never been trimmed since.
