Yeah, sometimes I think the more we try to give out dogs the "best", the more we screw things up. Right now, the yeast infection on the paws may be isolated, and have nothing to do with his diet. Yeast is all around us and the bacteria around us keep yeast in check. If something throws off the bacteria, like using too many antibacterial wipes, or even using an antibiotic, the yeast can grow out of control. If the yeast keeps coming back, you might want to change the diet.
