As you brush Winston's hair (with the flea comb) you will actually be removing the cotton. The more you strip out, the shinier you will see his coat get. The silk that's left behind does not mat very easily. Although I brush them daily, I bathe the girls, and strip their coats once a week to keep them mat free. By the way, stripping doesn't hurt, unless you accidentally pull on a knot. It's just like regular combing. I'd really be interested to hear if it works for Winston, and I'll keep my fingers crossed that it does help tame that cute, fluffy, little butt.
