I agree orinskye, I am also room mom for my sons class and you do see it all the time. Every time I have gone on a field trip with the class(have gone to every one since son was in kindergarten) I have met parents who only rely on those trips for the kids to visit musuems and zoos and plays. We always are heading to the museums whenever there is a new exhibit an d the kids love it. Infact when we go shopping the kids know they wont get toys but I never say no to books or art supplies

. That i learned from my mom lol.
It is a shame especially when reading time is such a good way to unwind the kids as well as prepare them for school if started at an early age.
