I'm sorry, missed your post before somehow. I myself just have a plain, old Cox link fence, I think it is called, regulation height with a back boat gate and side gate. I do have locks on the gates as the police says that locked gates do tend to prevent robberies as a lock of spontaneous robbers don't have the ability to cut a lock off and don't want to/can't jump the fence to gain access to the back of the house, where most robbers try to enter. I would be sure to get a much higher fence built if I had a big, powerful breed as they can jump or climb over regular fencing. If you have a smaller dog, be sure that the fence has no 4" wide openings between the gate and the fence or underneath the gate clearance. A smaller Yorkie of say 5 lbs. can get out a 4" opening or clearance with no problem - I've seen it with my own eyes.
