I have a now 2 yo male yorkie - he is my dream pup. Laid back and loving. He came from family that had a male & female and bred them once a year. Nice people but now that I know, not the best choice for getting your pup.

My dd got a now 1 yo female biewer from a wonderful, reputable biewer breeder. She is a WILD THING! She will fetch forever, sometimes we put her in her iris pen just to give the other pups (and us) a break. She NEVER slows down. Also, the male was reliably housetrained at 6 months. Using the SAME METHODS 1 year later with the female, she still needs us to send her out and monitor when she goes and sometimes has accidents in the house still.

I don't think you can generalize between the two breeds. It very much depends on the individual pup.
