I have that car seat and Columbo has used it for years. It puts him close to me, but up where he can see out. And since it's in the middle, he's not directly in front of the airbag. You do have to clip the strap on their harness, or if you stop short, they can fly out. I actually found this thread because I am shopping for a new car seat. I just got a new car and the console is different, so it doesn't work for my new car. I'll have to get one that goes on the seat. Too bad you aren't closer, I'd give you the console one since I can't use it anymore. I've always liked it.
